Luthier-salvaged Guatemalan Rosewood guitar with old-growth Sinker Redwood. A recipe for warmth! Big, round, full tone with just enough sparkle to keep it clean and articulate.
The back and sides of this guitar were made from the off-cuts of a major guitar manufacturer. The wood was stunning but it was discarded because the size did not fit their factory production model. I happily grabbed it out of the discard pile and put it to use.
The top is old-growth Sinker Redwood salvaged from the Big River near Mendocino, California. The tree was cut in the coastal hills and pushed into the river to be transported downstream to the mill. This log was pressed to the bottom of the river and it sat there submerged for a century of so before being salvaged by Hearne Hardwoods.
** Please note: Boxwood Guitar Company is a one-man show. I'll be out of town from June 4 to June 19. Any orders placed within that window will be be shipped June 20.
