An all-koa guitar is a special thing. There's the physical beauty, of course. And then there is the clear articulate tone. The combination is powerful! This one in particular is made from consecutive book-matched pieces from the same log so the top and back are a dead-on match. This particular tree was salvaged from private property in Hawaii. The neck, fretboard and bridge are all "luthier-salvaged" from a major American guitar manufacturer. The Sitka Spruce bracing material was salvaged from the forest in Southeast Alaska by a family-owned mill. The mahogany end blocks are salvaged off-cuts from a San Diego-based cabinet maker.
